Dakota Meyer is an American military veteran and recipient of the Medal of Honor. Born on June 26, 1988, in Columbia, Kentucky, Meyer enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2006. He served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, displaying exceptional bravery and selflessness during his deployments. Meyer's heroic actions in the Battle of Ganjgal in 2009 earned him the highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, making him the first living Marine to receive the honor since the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, Meyer became an advocate for veterans' rights and mental health awareness. He co-founded the company "Own The Dash" to inspire individuals to take control of their lives and make a positive impact.
